Common Uses

Installed in commercial retail spaces, offices, restaurants, residential kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Loose-lay installation is popular in rental properties and commercial spaces where quick installation, easy plank replacement, and future removal are priorities. Glue-down installation is preferred for high-traffic commercial areas where planks must not shift under heavy foot traffic.

Pro Tips

For loose-lay installation, the subfloor must be smooth, clean, and free of debris. Any grit or unevenness under the plank will telegraph through. Loose-lay floors rely on the weight and friction of the material to stay in place -- subfloor preparation is critical.
For glue-down installation, use the adhesive specified by the manufacturer. Spread with the recommended trowel notch size for proper adhesive transfer and open time.
Wide plank vinyl can be cut with a standard utility knife -- score the surface and snap. No wet saw or specialized cutting tools required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between loose-lay and glue-down?
Loose-lay planks are placed directly on the subfloor without adhesive -- they stay in place by weight and friction. Glue-down planks are permanently adhered. Loose-lay is faster to install and easier to replace individual planks. Glue-down is more stable in high-traffic commercial environments.

Can I install this over existing vinyl flooring?
